Dear Paul,

It’s good to hear from you again. I hope the year has treated you well.

I’d like to assure you that the Strong Man has been keeping us very good company and we are still thrilled to have him. He’s quite the topic of conversation amongst our friends and family who have seen him; opinions seem to be divided between “How cool to actually own a real piece of art” and “How decadent to install a one-of-a-kind artwork in your backyard”. I’m so impressed with your craftsmanship; he looks as good today as when you installed him. High winds and rain this winter destroyed our gazebo, but the Strong Man took it all in stride and never even flinched. He still looks great in the yard and we are in the process of landscaping a little area to high-light him further. If you and your wife would like to visit him while you are in town, we would be more than happy to have both over for a visit. We could stage the installation however you wanted if you could use more photos of him for your portfolio. I think installed pieces always make an artist look so successful!

Drew and I hope to see you at the Affaire in the Garden in May., We did study your work on the web-site and really enjoyed it. So interesting! I have to admit that I kind of got a crush on that Peter Rabbit figure. The tail! And the wrinkly ear! Too cute! Drew studied all of the female figures closely (he favors those for some reason), but still feels that he’s got the piece that speaks to him the most personally, Screwing Your Head on Straight. We both thought that the Cactus Man series was fascinating. I don’t think that they would necessarily blend with our locale, but they seemed beautiful and disturbing all at the same time (which is just the style that we favor!)

I hope that you’ll have time at the show to talk to us for few minutes and show us any works in progress that you have up your sleeve. We are big fans of your style and individuality, Paul. It takes a confident artist to create works that do not fit the “standard” version of beautiful, and your work certainly shows that those artists still exist in our overly commercialized world. We look forward to seeing you in May!

Michele
